All of the Blue girls are addicted. The oldest, Avery, was once addicted to heroin and is now hyper focused on work as her method of control. Bonnie devotes her entire being to boxing and her training, and Lucky, a model, is addicted to…everything. She parties with abandon as she runs her life into the ground. Another sister – the third in line – was Nicky, who turned to painkillers to help with endometriosis and accidentally overdosed. One year after her death, the Blue sisters reunite in New York to claim whatever is left in their childhood apartment before their parents sell it and are forced to acknowledge and face their addictions. As they all attempt to begin their respective paths to recovery – which is anything but linear – they must first open their arms to each other. And when any one of them resist that love, they must force their support on them. Because that’s what sisters do.
This is a cautionary tale for anyone who thinks going full throttle is the only way. It’s certainly the only way any of these sisters know how to do anything. But the good thing is, when you party hard or work hard or train hard, you also love hard. And these girls all love fiercely, with their entire beings.
